FOR STUDENTS
Got a few extra minutes? Do you want to practice typing for a while? Having a hard time understanding the present progressive voice? Wishing everyone could understand your pronunciation? Need to listen to conversations over and over again before you can understand them?
Good news! The Walk-In Computer Lab, located in Room 334, is here to serve you! Open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, students can come in to strengthen their ESL and typing skills at a leisurely pace.
This year hundreds of students have taken advantage of the opportunity to plan and execute their own course of study. Most have a clear idea of what they want to do in the lab. Others seek guidance and are then steered in the right direction. Some students enjoy going through an entire computer program. Other spend their time doing a little typing, a little pronunciation, a little grammar, and citizenship question practice. The choice is theirs. The most noticeable characteristic of the lab is that the students are highly motivated and capable of working alone.
We look forward to seeing you in the lab soon. For those who are a little computer-shy, don’t worry. There’s always someone to help you if you get stuck, we’re there to answer your computer and/or ESL questions. You will enjoy the relaxed, supportive, positive atmosphere. Hope to see you soon.
