Evans Community Adult School

• Opened in 1937 and is the largest stand-alone ESL adult school in the Nation
• Enrolls approximately 20,000 students annually and averages 4,000 students in daily attendance
• Continuous classes from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. daily and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m
• Enrolls students from over 90 different countries
• Maintains 42 classrooms on campus which operate at six time periods over a six-day schedule with an average room usage of 89% and 100% usage at high demand periods
• Employs 160 certificated instructors
• Partners with Community-based and public organizations:
  • Chinatown Service Center's WorkSource Center, Hollywood-Sunset Clinic,
  • County of Los Angeles, Department of Consumer Affairs: Annual Consumer Information Fair
  • Foundation for Early Childhood Education, Inc.: Head Start Program on Campus
• Little Tokyo Service Center
• 5 Career Technical Education Programs: Computer Skills, General Clerk: Office Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, and IC3.
